I think this one started to grow on me the more I looked at it. At first, I really did not like how “popping” the colors were. It seemed too Pop Culture -like. Complementary color schemes are often in your face however, which is why for this exercise I had to really step out of my comfort zone. I usually like working with muted colors, or at least, I’m the most confident working with neutral colors schemes– especially with digital media and in my wardrobe. You can’t go wrong with blacks, grays and tans! So I tried experimenting with blue and orange, red and green (which I’ve learned I hate because it looks too much like Christmas), and yellow and purple. I liked yellow and purple the best.
But I think I’m starting to embrace the obnoxiousness of this complementary color scheme. It is very fun and in your face and confident. I’m glad I got to practice with the yellow and bright purple.
